Full Renewal of Parish Electoral Roll and Consent for Contact (GDPR)

Writer: @cheamrector@cheamrector

In 2025, we are required to prepare a new Electoral Roll.  Being on the Electoral Roll allows you to vote on church matters, attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting, and stand for election for the Parochial Church Council.

Everyone who wishes to be on the Electoral Roll must apply, even if you have previously been on the roll. To apply to join the Electoral Roll you must meet all the following conditions:

  • You must be aged 16 or over (though you can apply in the year you become 16 and your name will be entered once your birth date has passed);

  • You must be baptised;

  • You must be a member of the Church of England and EITHER live in the parish OR have attended a church in the parish regularly for at least 6 months.

Application forms for the Electoral Roll are available in our churches and can be downloaded here:

For St Dunstan's click here

For St Alban's click here

For St Oswald's click here

Forms should be sent to the Parish Office (St Dunstan's Church, Church Road, Cheam, SM3 8QH) or handed to a churchwarden or member of the clergy.  The deadline for applications is Sunday 13th April 2025.

We are also taking the opportunity to revise our parish contact information and consent for communication.  This is a requirement under GDPR legislation.  Consent forms are also available in our churches and can be downloaded here.  As with the Electoral Roll, these forms should be sent to the Parish Office or handed to a churchwarden or member of the clergy by Sunday 13th April 2025.

If you have any questions or need help to complete the forms, please speak with a member of the clergy or contact the Parish Office (office@cheamparish.org.uk).
