Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Lasting forty days and nights (excluding Sundays!), Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and reflection about our relationship with God as we journey towards the celebration of Easter.
On Ash Wednesday, we are encouraged to attend a service of Holy Communion at which we are invited to have the sign of the cross marked on our foreheads in ash. Ash has long been a symbol of repentance and this marks our intention to turn our lives back in the direction God wants for us.
We will be offering two chances to attend a service in Cheam Parish on 5th March - 11.00am at St Dunstan's (in the church hall) and 7.30pm at St Alban's.
We look forward to welcoming you.
